Credit where credit's due.

I just read the following BoLS article:

...and I have to say I was kinda impressed. This is a far cry from some of the bullshit they've turned out in the past, and even recently. Well done.

Except, of course, for this part:
"So there you go. You may ask "Where's the other classic tornado pattern?", the one with Multimelta and Heavy Flamer. While both these weapons have shorter ranges, they are both very specialised. I find that this loadout rarely does very well, as you only use one weapon or the other. Decide on a role for your speeder and use builds 1a or 1b instead."

While I am not privy to your experience of the game, and do not dispute that you haven't found it as useful yourself, that doesn't mean it should be discounted - especially given it is commonly considered the best variant. You had no problem earlier in the article putting a MM on a Typhoon...something that clearly runs counter to the purpose of having a 48" range - meaning you often use one weapon or the other...

The point of this loadout is that it's more versatile, and forces the opponent to make a difficult call if they get a Weapon Destroyed result. Making the opponent think more = more mistakes. If you move over 6" you can only use one gun anyway, so it's hardly creating much dilemma for yourself when each one has a clearly delineated role.

Anyway, that article firmly deserves the title 'average quality' - so keep it up BoLS! Rome wasn't built in a day.

WTF!? Says the multi melta and heavy flamer setup as you can only use one weapon or another, probably due to different targets, but says about a missile launcher and multi melta setup which have totally different ranges.

Aslo that fact that the multi melta and heavy flamer build is the most popular.

Strange...
