I like the Deathwing.
However, I don't really see them as anything other than a pretty darn bland mono-build army - SURE, it can compete, no question...but is it interesting? No, not really.
So, in the interests of finding something a bit more fun instead, let's try and mimic the Grey Knights, with all those suddenly useful BolterBack turrets lying around your house...Let's try the namesake of hit C4 show, Green Wing.
Tactical Squad:
Meltagun, BolterBack - 150
This provides a kinda ok-ish unit that, while overcosted, isn't horribly so. Pity we can't have a Combi-Melta on the Serg though... :(
Let's take 6 of these units, for a core of 900 points. We should add an HQ - but let's come back to that, DA HQs are crap.
We want more saturation of Rhino chassis, even if we would prefer higher AV to screen with - so let's go for a trio of AutoLas Preds. There is a thought that I could maybe opt for a lone Whirlwind to provide some tasty anti-cover rounds - but the BolterBacks really should be providing sufficient anti-infantry at this stage.
So, let us add 130 points of Predator a few times...(three) and take ourselves to 1290, with 9 Tanks so far. Not too shabby, especially for a 4e Book. Okay, next I'm thinking that we still have a critical lack of anti-tank, so let's look to what GKs look to, and fire support Dreads. Now, we don't get anything nearly as good as the Psyfleman (135 points of AWESOME)...and ours are Elites, not Heavy, so they compete with a completely different set of options...but here goes.
Dreadnought:
Missile Launcher, TLAC - 135
That simply isn't as good as a Psyfleman in many ways - no Fortitude, no second shot on the left arm, no TL on the left arm, and no S8 on the right arm...BUT, there is ONE benefit we can get. The Venerable upgrade is much cheaper than in other books - we can get that for a total of merely 155, so less than a base GK Ven Dread (pretty fair, since they have BS5 and Fortitude!) and a lot less than a VenPsyfleman.
Adding 3 of these 155-point vehicles takes us up to 1755, leaving us just enough to grab an HQ choice.
Taking a Company Master makes our Troops LD10, and taking a Librarian makes Psychic Defence happen, albeit in a really limited fashion...Let's go for Ld10. Testing can prove the wisdom or not of this choice.
Since we only have 15 points to spare on equipment (you'll see!) it's kind of a wash between a Power Weapon, or Combi-Melta and Meltabombs. Power Weapon lets you use the totally sweet model with the winged helmet, sword, and cloak, so...let's do that.
Finally, we ahve 130 points to spend, which translates to two Ravenwing Support Squadrons, each with a Multi-Melta in place of the Heavy Bolter. Great? By no means - one-gun vehicles are almost always crap. Still, for 65 points, they are a bargain in this Codex.
The final list then:
Company Master:
Power Weapon - 115
Dreadnought:
Missile Launcher, TLAC, Venerable - 155

I was the guy who requested Stelek review his DA list. I was really hoping people would have had more idea's with just the Terminators themselves.
I concede that it's a very mono-build kinda thing with Daethwing. I just needed a fresh perspective on the DA's. We all get stuck into our own set ways sometimes and I needed an outside look for some inspiration.
I like you list TKE and have done something close in the past but I think that Chapter Marines can do this list better, rather they can do mech differently then the DA's and do it better. I say this though without building a list and not looking into it.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
I'll be in the corner building the last of three termies for a fun type list...
