Stuff I need to vent:

Conclusions from the day's gaming:

At 1k, Hybrid Eldar works better than pure mech against other 'Elite' forces with such a greater capacity for withering fire.

Rhino Tacs are NOT in a fucking Wave Serpent.  Stop using them as if they were! Idiot.

Single MMs are significantly less accurate than TL BL (despite lower BS.)

Pathfinders are easier to kill than I remembered...

And Broadsides harder.

Being overly cautious against Tau will cost you tabling opportunities.  Find the line, and ride it.

Telling your opponent what they need to do is best done after the game.  lol

I hate playing at 1k so much that if I didn't need the practise I'd shoot myself for seeking out such a game...

One of those days, eh?

Having one myself, though not over anything so fun as playing 40K.

Alas, yeah. Literally one FW, and an Ethereal (Sigh) with 1W left.

Guh.

Capture and Control - it was, ofc, a draw.

1k is indeed silly.

Keep a stiff upper lip, old bean.

Hmmnnn... How is it that I can like playing at 1500 or 1850, but detest 1750 so?

The lists just don't flow out of me at that level.

Funny, Sandwyrm - I feel the same way about 1750. I thought it was an irrational thing. Maybe there is something to it.

Huh. I really quite like 1750, tbh. Weird...

I dont mind 1k list to get a feel for the army in question but you cant tell if your 2k list is going to be any good by playing 1k of it which is annoying

Interesting that you struggle at 1k, as thats where I find I am at my prime...

However that said, the mark of great general is to use what forces he has and then effectively combat the opponent with them. (What a lovely throw away statement).

Are you struggling at 1k, as you think its too easy? so you relax too much? I find the larger the game the worse I play as I have to continually take more and more factors into account. Are you over thinking 1k points?

I find that any bell or whistle (including transports, most of the time) makes 1K a lot less about the killing and a lot more about the "why am I not killing them?"

But I'm in it for the killing - objectives are for suckers! (well, not really, but killing should always be job #1 for the first 4 turns).

I played a bit of 1k when I got back into the hobby. I actually enjoyed it because I had a pre-written 1k list and everybody else had to adapt a 1500 list. I ended up doing pretty well for a 'newby', which was nice.

I think going back to it now would be a bit of a pain. I find my lack of volume fire is bad enough at 1.5k, I'd hate to go back to 1k with some more experience.

I'm a little surprised about the 4th point. Could they be any easier??

The 6th point is very useful - tournie at the weekend!

Not really much of a 'vent', just a few little gems at their most basic. I like!

Last time I played Tau was a god while before, and that may have been Farsight and nonsense. I don't remember killing Pathfinders - but that may be because I didn't even face them. They were more fragile than anticipated.

Wait, no, that wasn't last time - last time there were no SCs allowed...

Oooohhh! No SCs = No eldrad = sad eldar!

But, at 1k, surely you'd never take him anyway! Surely?

How could WS2, T3, I2 be any more squishy?? Oh and the fact they can move and shoot and they need to shoot for the army to work doesn't help in their struggle to avoid the squish!
