Conversion and Creation Centre: TWoC talks Dark Eldar

Herro there Ladles and Jellyspoons,
It’s Widthofacircle here. You might know me as one of the opinionated fools lurking around the shark tank or the pinksphere or if you are a bit of an internet sleuth; I’m also on ATT as Xanadu (We all have to start somewhere right ;)).
After much flirtatious tweeting with TKE, on Twitter, (feel free to follow me : @TWidthofaCircle), I showed him pictures of my recent Kabalite Trueborn conversations and he asked me to pen and article for him on their inception and creation. Frankly terrified of being directly addressed by the internet famusz, I said 'yes'…

Hey Guys, a Guest Article here, found originally on Heresy Online, by a writer named Keith. It featured in a MDHD on 3++ apparently, but I asked him to use it before I knew that, so I don't see it as stealing...anyway, it's good enough to show again, imo. Over to Keith!

How To Convert A Renegade Guardsman

Today I'll be doing a 'How to' on how I converted my renegade Imperial Guard regiment, the Verratian 3rd Infantry, who worship Khorne.
I used the IA6 Servants of Slaughter list to plan out my force and to get the character and then transferred what I could across to the Imperial Guard codex, the reason for this was that I get to play the majority of my games at tournaments, which unfortunately do not support IA rules or lists.

I have a project in mind, and I'd really like a unique model to lead this new army.
I could convert it, and I'm not sure that I won't...I intend to give it a go before I commit to anything, and that means this project will absolutely not get off the mark before September...but the more I think about it, the more I want to make it a reality, because it's awesome. I want to do a big reveal of the finished thing here on Mind War, so I cannot name the project, beyond a codename, and cannot give details except by email - but if you're interested in helping, and think your skills are up to my exacting standards, then I want to hear from you.
Project Icarus...BEGINS!

How to Make a Squat Trike

Welcome to another installment of the Squat Revival here at Mind War, I'll be continuing with my squat conversion guides, this week was supposed to be 'How to convert a Squat HWT but as the parts haven't arrived as of yet, I'm posting the article I was planning for next week.
Now back in the days of Rogue Trader squats were famous for their Guild Heavy Weapon Trike Teams and their skid turns that enabled them to move, spin the bike round, fire the heavy weapon (with no penalty) and then continue to move. Sadly no one will let me use this rule yet, but I live in hope :)
I have, however a large number of bike wheels and the front mudguards for the wheels due to a number of conversions I recently did for jetbikes. This, it seems, was all the reason I needed to start assembling Squat trikes...

How to convert a Squat

Hi all,
I was at the Fields of Blood tournament at Q-Con at the weekend and on the Saturday night Rick approached me about doing an article for his blog, I readily agreed and began planning out my thoughts. Rick then ruined all this by pointing out I couldn't rip the piss out of his performance in the tournament so far... so back to the drawing board.
Now I've always been interested in the Rogue Trader edition of 40k (especially the fluff) and lament the loss of the Squats. For those of you who don't know, they were small, angry and bearded, (so pretty much the Scots in space) and had the technical knowledge that made the Imperium of Man look like a bunch of idiots who can't operate a remote for the TV yet alone an iPhone. Sadly GW have got rid of the Squats, retconning the fluff to state they were devoured by the Tyranids (like a deep-fried Mars bar), but they still have a strong, underground, following (sorry couldn't resist!) on the interwebs.
So for my article I decided I would do a conversion piece (god knows I'm not a painter) on how to convert a Squat from (predominantly) GW bits...

Daleks. Daleks in 40k. PURE WIN.
In general, though, it's also a phenomenal site for conversions and conversion inspiration. I should really get on and add a link down the right...
