Not for ourselves, no. But we can give Frodo his chance!
So, after a quite magnificent start, if I do say so myself, I was leading the pack going into game three. Two 19-1 wins, over another Blood Angels force and over Dark Eldar Venomspam (you should have SEEN how bad the table would have been if I'd not asked for more terrain to be placed...I'd have won in 2 turns...) saw me set up as the player to beat, for TO and entrant Jonny65.
Unfortunately, after a truly titanic clash, Jonny managed to destroy my last contesting Razor in turn 7 with Paladins in Assault, and the game went from a tie (think it would have been a very rare 10-10 actually, need to double-check...) to a decisisve 16-4 win for him. Actually, that means it would probably have been 12-8. I made a couple notable mistakes in the game, including forgetting to Smoke a Stunned Razor for the second consecutive game. Irritating as hell, really.
I could put the loss down to inexperience (while I've played both Henchmen and Purifiers, I've never played a list that is terribly close to that one) but honestly that would be a disservice to us both. Now, I can ascribe my loss more accurately to the inherent resilience of his list, and a couple of foolish errors, both in deployment, and in my opening moves.
Well, onwards and upwards, hopefully! Last two games starting soonish, so back to War!

We come to it at last...the great battle of our time...
SO, I woke up (a while ago actually...thanks alcohol...) knowing that today was the day, and that, yes, getting home at 4am or whatever godawful time it was last night/this morning was a serious error of judgement, despite having been a lot of fun at the time.

I know I haven't replied to the comments below on other posts, and I meant to...I've just been so hard at work trying to finish my BA to at least the minimum for this Saturday, or avoiding my own blog to try and feel like the procrastination time I spend online is somehow more valuable making dozens of little comments (or, smallish essays as on Hulksmash's blog leading to this...)

Assault on Arkham Ticket Available!

Hey All,
I've a ticket available for the next Assault on Arkham (19/20 May) as my friend isn't going to be able to make it. The ticket is £20, same as if you'd got it direct. If you follow this blog already you'll be aware that there is a couple of us heading to this, and even though I've never been myself I have it on good authority (well, ok, from TKE) that its a good venue.
Anyway, if you want it you can leave a comment here. First come first served as always. Thanks
TKE Edit: Haha, I can edit with impunity! Editorial Privilege! ...Anyway, the venue really is neat, although parking can be of a slight issue if everyone drove - a little bit of car pooling, as will happen anyway, simply solves this however. Like anywhere else, terrain is of varying quality, but most tables have enough even if it doesn't quite reach the level and specifications I consider the perfect Tournament tables.
The event is 1850 points, and the Tournament Pack is available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WT9w_NP4pOw1d7B05vfZoZ2eVJOL1NH10a6cNPi42og/edit
Well, that's it from me!

I want to retain the core of 3 AutoLas Predators, the 4 Las/Plas Razors with 2 Libbies and 2 Priests..but I can't field the 6 Speeders and the Flamerback I usually round it out with.
So, while I have a few ideas, I'm opening it up to suggestions from the Gallery... any ideas guys?

Interesting afternoon writing some lists, though not all have truly met my exacting standards, lol.
I'll update this post again later, but here are links to two of the ones I'm happiest with - definitely want feedback on the lists here guys, riven with indecision! Hahaha
Wolves - http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105552
Tau - http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105549
Chaos Spess Mehreens. I'm particularly happy with how this isn't quite what you'll expect. http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105567

Tournament next weekend!

Thanks to a very fortuitous set of circumstances, I will now be attending the Assault On Arkham event at Arkham Gaming Centre next weekend (dunno how I'm getting up there yet, but still....)
Firstly then a big thanks to our very own ItsPug, who provided me with his ticket since he can't go. I didn't expect to get it off work, but things worked out neatly on that score too, and now I'm faced with the deliberations of what army to use. It's 1850, so my options are many and varied - but the closeness of the event largely rules out Blood Angels - until I get my parcels from Waugh Games and Bits And Kits then I can't finish building enough Predators that I wouldn't be ashamed of putting on a table at an actual Tournament. :(

Just a short post for your reading pleasure. So those who read my previous post know that I've just joined a new gaming group and have been very readily stigmatised by the group for my competitive nature. The group is hosting a 1500pt league and I'll be dragging my Mechdar out into the light of day for it as I do love my purple floaty boxes.

Righty-o, time to discuss the ETC rules again.
As you may know, I am going to Dominion Day IV in Ballymena this forthcoming weekend (note to self - pay for ticket!) and have been reading the ETC rulespack in preparation. I know in advance a bunch of it I won't agree with (lol) and don't want caught unaware by some horseshit (no offence, but SOME of it plainly is.)

On to the final stretch then here at WarpCon XXI.
Overall, I have netted 40 points this far, out of a potential 80 that can only be achieved by tabling all 4 opponents this far, realistically beyond the reach of ANY player in a remotely competitive setting.
I'm not unhappy with the performance, seeing as I literally lost that game T6 when my opponent was quite eager to play T6 (pity, if the dice had let him down on that we would have had a nice juicy victory for me...) - though by 'lost' I mean 'drew' in this instance.
For now, let's just say I hate playing against Blood Angels.
Fucking Fast Marines...

Just 6 hours sleep? Bah! Stupid Robin Williams. Watching 1991's The Fisher King instead of writing last night's blog post for 2 hours or whatever kinda neutralised any advantage I sought by going to sleep instead of going out drinking (not that I could properly afford it anyway! lol) ...my only real hope now is that my opponents are hungover and capitulate! Haha.
How many litres of coffee can one safely drink?
...
It WAS a good film though. Well, it was entertaining. In hindsight, it wasn't truly all that good. Well, that's not fair either. Watch it yourselves, if you've never seen it. Well worth a go. It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, so that's not too shabby.
Back to today...the missions remaining are Capture and Control on Pitched Battle, and Seize Ground (5 Obj) on DoW (I think it's on DoW...?)
Frankly, C&C is a joke, we should be playing a second Annihilation game, so we have 2 of those and 3 Obj missions...but it isn't up to me. Not least because without a central point to defend, my Eldar are able to wheel freely and flit about any quarter of the table - giving me a huge potential advantage in KP missions (even though I have 15 to offer up to people, some very easily)...but maybe this is just because I know how to play these missions, and don't whine like the internet.
That's right, internet - Kill Points are nowhere near as unbalanced, one-sided and poorly designed as Capture and Control. Get over it.
Anyway, yeah. To be fair, having a 3 Obj (fixed) Seize Ground seems a deliberate move to benefit Orks/Nids/similarly immobile armies, that I feel unnecessary/undesirable. However, that mission is over, and I will discuss it more at the time for that. Time to go have breakfast!

Well, as you may have noted, I am in the city of Cork 270-odd miles from my own bed, and the comfort of my bitz boxes and almost a dozen army cases.
I have my Eldar, my Codex...well, Cathy's Codex...my BRB...flying bases. Oh shit. Another fucking cock up.
All the same. Here's the plan - take my camera for a few videos (but I forgot the cable to put those on the laptop) and/or snaps - depending on the memory capacity really. Not sure how much I can get on it before it explodes or whatever.
If at all possible to have my laptop on during games (unlikely) I will try to have that up and going ,and squeeze 50-100 words synopses between games...but don't hold your breath here guys...I'm actually really pissed off my flying bases are inexplicably not in my case.
Frankly, if being this annoyed at my own stupidity doesn't affect my gaming tomorrow it'll be a goddamn miracle...especially since I am very unlikely to get 8 scraped together from other players with less than 10 hours notice.
Fucking hell...

A Space Wolf list I wrote for another post, that I actually like enough that I might build it. I think it's all pretty self-explanatory, tbh. I would expand to 2k by probly just straight putting 2 more GH units in, with Flamers and PlasBack. lol As ever, feedback appreciated.
